KNOWLEDGE-BASED SERVICES ARE THE THIRD LARGEST GENERATOR OF FOREIGN CURRENCY IN ARGENTINA
According to a report by Argencon, an organization that promotes the export of knowledge-based services, in 2015 Argentina exported US$5.8 million in knowledge services, making it the third largest foreign currency-generating sector.
This level of exportation helped contribute to a positive balance of US$2.2 million against Argentina’s imports. With a surplus of 37%, Argentina is the leading country in the region in generation of net income and the second in volume of exports, behind Brazil.
Knowledge-based services make up some of the exports with the largest value added, given that they generate employment, drive innovation and technological development, and are a significant source of foreign currency income.
